We love getting feedback in the studio, its an essential part of our design process.
We are currently in the middle of designing three new collections which we look forward to delivering to you this year, so if you have any great ideas we always love to hear from you!

END OF AN ERA

Mokum has new owners marking the end of an era for the Rysenbry family, who started the company over 30 years ago in Auckland, New Zealand.

I would like to thank Edwin (featured above) and Michael Rysenbry for all the wonderful opportunities I have experienced over the past 18 years in their employment.

I would also like to wish Edwin and Barbara Rysenbry the very best of luck with their exciting new venture Sparkk Textiles!

In our next post we will profile our new owners and exciting plans for 2011!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Wishing all of our clients and suppliers a very Happy Holiday Season.
All the best for the New Year!

I am off to Tasmania! Below a picture of beautiful Wine Glass Bay on Tasmania's East Coast.

Highly Commended - Alexis Vassett (above)

Highly Commended - Pippa Bradbrook (above)

Congratulations to Pascale Rajek who won first place at the International School of Colour and Design, winning Mokum's annual Surface Design award. Judged by myself, Pauline Ollmann (Mokum) and Sharon Gage (ISDC Tutor). The standard of work this year was so high we chose to extend three Highly Commended awards to Nancy Constandelia, Alexis Vassett and Pippa Bradbrook. This year the students were asked to work on a main design and a co-ordinating design suitable to sit alongside our current Meridian range.
Congratulations to the winners and all the students
graduating this year, best of luck from the Mokum Team!

SUMMER ESSENTIALS

Australian House & Garden's January cover features Aitu Stripe and Tau Stripe from
our successful Aitutaki Outdoor Collection.

Lets get ready for summer!

PURPLE RAIN

The warmer weather has arrived in Sydney; the Jacaranda Tree in my back yard is showering purple blossoms all day long!

While we are hard at work in the studio designing surface patterns for our next outdoor collection, take a look at our current range to furnish your outdoor spaces before the summer ends!

MODERNE WINS!

Our Art Deco inspired Moderne collection wins the Textiles category for Home Beautiful Magazine’s Product Of The Year Awards!

This is our third time winning the textiles category "which recognises and rewards innovative design that successfully encompasses a strong design aesthetic and practical functionality".

NEISHA CROSLAND

Neisha Crosland

Neisha's wallpaper and fabrics

UK textile designer Neisha Crosland is a breath of fresh air for the interiors industry. As a designer she isn't afraid of colour or large bold designs that take over a room, she designs from the heart and it shows.

All of Neisha's designs start off as paintings and drawings on canvas. As a textile designer with a fine art background, I can relate to this process and can see how it influences the end result.
This process makes her work standout amongst her competitors as youthful and creative.

Neisha's bold and outgoing sense of design have won multiple design awards. The Victoria and Albert Museum also collect her work and we are lucky to have her designs in our Mokum showrooms.

To me, Mokum and Neisha's design process and aesthetics are very much the same. Together we compliment one another and hopefully inspire interior designers to push the boundaries and use pattern more within interiors.
